Huge Table Tennis Upset! Jiawei out of Finals

It was an anxious and very tight match today. Women’s ping pong semi-finals between Li Jia Wei of Singapore and Kim of North Korea. Kim managed to edge out in the last of the full 7-framed match by 1 matchpoint to cause a major upset. Jia Wei looked so in line of getting through to the finals when she was leading 3-1 frames after the fourth. However Kim astonishingly picked up the next consecutive 3 frames to secure a place in the finals! I would attribute that to Kim's fast pace in the beginning of each frame and more particularly, her irritating weird noise antics just before her opponent’s serve.

Li Jia Wei (SIN) - Kim Hyang Mi (PRK)
Game1: 11- 8
Game2: 6- 11
Game3: 11- 0
Game4: 11- 8
Game5: 8- 11
Game6: 6- 11
Game7: 9- 11

Having glued to the television for the entire match, I felt an immense feeling of disappointment; a dark, deep abysmal. Gold has eluded us once again. "Well, it wasn’t your fault Jiawei. You just had a bad run that’s all. Don’t give up and bag that bronze at least, ok?" Now that the top two medals are forlorn, we can always brag: “It’s the participation and spirit of competition that matters most!”
